Cloning

What exactly is Cloning? How did it begin?

Cloning is the process of making the same exact copy of something else. Humans and even nature clones. Some things that are cloned are plants, bacteria and more.Twins are clones also because they have the same genetic copy of each other. There are different types of  cloning: reproductive cloning, DNA cloning, and therapuetic cloning. Cloning started with Hans Derich in the late 1800s when he created the first cloned sea urchin embryos unintentionally. Soon other scientists began looking for ways of cloning. New advances began in the 1900s.

Cloning is "PLAYING GOD"!!??

Cloning is a controversial issue in our society. The question Is cloning ethical is asked frequently. Some people think cloning is wrong because we are playing god. Others think it is perfectly alright because it helps discover new ways to help human life. To learn more about the issues of cloning click here.

What did CLONING ever DO TO US?

Cloning happens in our lives all the time. Some people keep pets that are clones. Scientists clone organs, plants and even animals. Why do we do this? Why is it even necessary? By doing this we find cures for the diseases and sicknesses we humans have. Also, it helps us perfect things that will benefit people. How does this happen? Scientists experiment and find new ways by using plants, bacterium, and animals. To find out more about how cloning is done and the impacts on our society click here.

Who gets Cloned?

Plants: Plants have been cloned ever since the beginning. People have been cloning them in a very simple way.

Bacterium: Bacteria have been cloned all the time by scientists. How do scientists clone bacteria that are so small? Whats the use of cloning something so small? What will it do?

Large Animals: Animals like sheep, rats, mice are cloned. The first mammal ever cloned was Dolly. She was cloned in 1996 and was put down 2003. What did scientists accomplish from this?

Who uses Cloning?

There are companies out there who clone bacteria, plants and etc. These companies clone, breed to find new technologies. They also clone for food. click here to find out more about these companies.
